Each team will receive an email with their award labels ready for printing. Results will be printed by team and teams will be able to determine how many ribbons and medals are needed for each place. Ribbons and medals will be distributed at the end of the meet.

Officials / Disqualifications

We will abide by USA Swimming Disqualification Rules unless stated otherwise. Outlined below are exceptions and important notes that are different from the USA Swimming Rules.

The DQ for delay in initiating the backstroke turn. Swimmers are NOT allowed to take more than one freestyle stroke but a little longer on their belly (within the flags) will be allowed at the turn.

8&U will be given to the flags to adjust their strokes.

We will DQ for false starts.

We will not DQ for moving or flinching.

We will DQ when a swimmer has truly taken off early and has been given a competitive advantage.

In the event of a false start where the swimmers continue to swim, the heat will be granted a re-swim by the starter after sufficient rest. A false start will be charged to the heat and any

Subsequent false start by any swimmer will result in disqualification of that swimmer.

USA Swimming Official Guidelines

  • Officials that will be attending the Champs meet, must attend at least one dual meet to see how we will DQ and to get used to summer league swimming.
  • We will have at least 6 stroke and turn judges at Champs.
  • Stroke and Turn officials will officiate in such a manner that no lane is given an advantage. For example, we will be using a 10 lane pool – lanes 1-4 would be put at a disadvantage if officials use the bulkhead.

Timing System

raphy

Video photography will not be used to review any disqualifications, order of finish or proof of final times.

Hospitality

Hospitality will be available for Coaches and Officials.

Relays

Relay cards will need to be turned by the stated time above. This allows the Meet Admin to make the necessary changes in the meet management software and clear up any exception prior to the start of the meet. Once changes have been made the relay cards will be returned to the teams. Relay swimmers must already be entered in the meet to swim on a relay. Swimmers will not be added on the day of the meet. Entry rules do apply when making changes to relays. If a swimmer needs to be scratched from an individual event and placed on a relay that will need to be notated on the relay card.
